Notice of Intent & Waiver

Arkansas law requires parents to complete 2 separate forms in order to be a legal home school. The first is a notice of intent to home school. Page one of this form asks for general information like name, address, and phone number. Page 2 of the notice of intent asks for information about the home school curriculum, number of days in the home school term, and the education level of the home school parent. The other form is a waiver form that the parent must sign promising not to hold the State of Arkansas liable for the education of their children. According the lawyers in Arkansas and those with the Home School Legal Defense Association, this waiver form is meaningless and unenforceable.
